Course Overview

This hands-on, interactive two-day course will teach you:
- How to be an effective ScrumMaster
 - Improve teamwork
 - Launch products sooner
 - Improve engineering practices to deliver high-quality products

Upon successful completion of this course and ScrumMaster certification exam, each participant will be enrolled as a Certified ScrumMaster, which includes a one-year Scrum Alliance membership, where additional ScrumMaster-only material and information is available. PMIs can receive 16 Professional Development Units (PDUs) for this course.
Before the class participants should read The Scrum Handbook by Jeff Sutherland (downloadable for free at http://jeffsutherland.com/scrumhandbook.pdf) or Ken Schwaber’s book, Agile Project Management with Scrum before the class as we require you know the basic definitions of Scrum. Of course, there will be updated material and training exercises in the course which you cannot get from books.
Audience
This course will focus on the ScrumMaster, the Product Owner, and the Team in a software development organization. However, the course is useful to everyone in a company using Scrum. While it will focus on software development, Jeff coaches Scrum teams in sales, marketing, finance, client services, senior management teams, investment groups, and non-profit organizations. You will often find a CEO, CFO, or CEO in this classes, as well as others interested in expanding Scrum throughout their companies. There is a company in Denmark that sends every single employee to the CSM including the receptionists, so everyone knows a common language and can use Scrum to improve operations throughout the company.
Course language: English, with simultaneous translation to Russian.

About instructor. Jeff Sutherland
Dr. Jeff Sutherland invented Scrum at Easel Corporation in 1993 and worked with Scrum Co-Creator Ken Schwaber to formalize the Scrum development process at OOPSLA’95. In the same year, he provided Kent Beck all background information on the creation of Scrum to assist him in the creation of eXtreme Programming. XP engineering practices then evolved along with SCRUM and the two leading Agile development processes work well together. Scrum and XP are the most widely used Agile processes worldwide and their creators are authors of the Agile Manifesto.
Dr. Sutherland is CEO of Scrum, Inc. and Chairman of the Scrum Foundation. He is Senior Advisor to OpenView Venture Partners and Scrum coach, mentor, and trainer to the venture group and their portfolio companies. Dr. Sutherland maintains hands-on experience with development in many software companies, and participates in project planning and team execution. His last seven companies have been laboratories for improvement of Scrum implementations and each have made a unique contribution to the worldwide Scrum community of practitioners.
Dr. Sutherland has been VP of Engineering, CTO or CEO of 11 software companies, developing Scrum in 4 of them and introducing today’s standard Scrum methodology to 7 of them. As CTO of PatientKeeper and IDX, he used Scrum to capture industry leadership for mobile application platforms in healthcare, enabling physicians to enhance revenue, reduce cost, and improve patient care. Recently, he evolved automated Scrum tools for real-time management reporting, reducing Scrum project management reporting to less than 10 minutes a day and developer administrative overhead to less than 1 minute a day an order of magnitude more efficient than traditional approaches to project management. Scrum helped PatientKeeper quadruple revenue in 2007.

I attended your CSM training in Bangalore. I must say that this was THE BEST training I have attended in the last many years. Your way of conducting the session and method of presenting the Scrum concepts was excellent. Examples/case studies were very good and very close to real-life scenarios.I have been practising Scrum since June 2009 and got the answer to many queries in this training. BTW, I passed the CSM exam with 97%.
